Firefighting Task 7:
High Pressure Hose Advance and Pull

High Pressure Hose Advance and Pull

Candidates must complete this task within 70 seconds. The time starts as soon as the candidate grabs the branch.

They must place the hose under their preferred arm, hold the branch ‘pistol grip’ style in front of their chest with the hose under their arm then strive forward to the bollard 20m away.

Once the candidate reaches the bollard they are to place the branch on the ground and walk back 10m, pick up the hose and strive forward again to the bollard, place the hose on the ground, pick up the branch, turn 45 degrees and proceed a further 10m to a designated box marked on the ground.

The candidate is to stop in the designated box, turn around, and pull in a further 10m of hose without stepping out of this area.

In the below table, the exercises have been split into three columns. One for exercises that can be done at a gym, one for exercises that can be done with minimal equipment and one for bodyweight exercises.
