Recruitment process
Personality profile
In preparation for the Selection Interview stage, all candidates are required to undertake a psychological questionnaire, known as the California Psychological Inventory (CPI). The CPI is administered online by an external provider on behalf of Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV). The CPI takes just over one hour and consists of a series of true/ false statements.
This Behavioural profile instrument is well researched and is used to assess people’s personality traits. This is not a pass or fail stage and there’s no right or wrong answers, we expect candidates to answer all the questions and statements honestly.
As the results are processed by an external provider, candidates will be asked to provide consent for the CPI information to be passed on to FRV.
